Plot: 'The 19th Step' is about a Samurai warrior (played by Tadanobu Asano) who tries to conquer Kerala's martial art, Kalarippayattu. It is a period movie where Kamal Haasan dons the role of a Martial art guru. Tadanobu learns the tough 18 steps and masters the 19th from an Indian guru, Kamal. Asin plays as a chera princess who falls in love with Tadanobu.
