Bomb blasting Mani
Mani Ratnam, the impeccable director we know, has gone another step to prove his eye for detail.Mani Ratnam, on the sets of ‘Raavan’ that is almost complete, shot a risky scene along with the stunt director, Sham Kaushal who worked on every aspect of the scene to come out well.
Inspired by a real life incident that happened to Mani Ratnam, he wanted a similar scene with a petrol bomb that blasts while the lead pair Aishwarya Rai and Vikram walk in front of it.
The scene was such that the bomb blasts in mid-air, just before it lands on the ground. The actors were only 15 feet before the point of landing, and Vikram and Aishwarya had agreed to do the risky scene as Mani thought would appear great on screen.
Once the risky scene was over, Mani was happy with the end product and congratulated the actors and Sham Kaushal for the dedication.
This is not the first time Mani Ratnam has tried something risky, even during the shooting of ‘Bombay’ and escaped from an accident.
With so much effort being put in the movie, let us hope nothing else bombs!
Comedian Madan Bob escapes with minor injuries
For the past few days, the shooting for 'Maapillai' starring Dhanush is going on in Thirunelveli and Tuticorin.Madan Bob, Vivek and Manobala provide the comedy element in the film.
To take part in the shooting, Madan Bob and his assistants were traveling in a luxury car yesterday morning from Thirunelveli. Near Vagaikulam, a dog ran across the road. To avoid it, the driver slammed on the brakes and when the speeding car came to this sudden halt, it toppled over. Fortunately, Madan Bob, his assistant and the driver escaped with minor injuries in this accident.
Madan Bob went to a private hospital in Tuticorin and is fine after being treated for his injuries.
KAMAL’S BIOGRAPHY FOR GUINNESS RECORD
Kamal Haasan’s biography is set to find a place in the Guinness Book of World Record. Manikandan, a native of Srivilliputtur in Tamil Nadu, has penned a biography on Kamal. So, what makes it eligible for the Guinness Book of World Record? Well, the author has titled the book which contains 1458 letters and 330 words.With this, he is set to break the record set by an Italian who had titled his book with 1,433 and 290 words in 2007.Entering the Guinness Book of World Record is not new for Manikandan as he has done so in the past by creating a 24-mm chess board, 163-gm silver fan, 110-gm silver bike etc.
Gowtham Menon’s next film to release shortly
Gowtham Menon hasn’t started working on Ajith Kumar’s 50th film as the actor is now busy preparing for Formula 2 racing tournament, which starts on April 16 and ending by September.Since, there’s a lot of time left for the shooting, Gowtham is now busy completing his untitled thriller with his manager Veera and Sameera Reddy playing the lead roles. Gowtham Menon’s untitled film is reported to be a thriller that centers on a young man’s encounter with a sex-worker during a night time, which results in unexpected twists and turns.The film doesn’t have any songs and the total duration of this film will be 90mins. The closer sources have confirmed that the film is not based on Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Chameli’ that had a similar plot but with a different treatment in screenplay.
Radhika Apte speaks on Raktha Charitra
Radhika Apte is the debut heroine of the multiple National Award winning Bengali film, Antaheen. (No, she did not get any National Award.) Now the lady is all set to make her Bollywood debut with RGV Raktha Charitra opposite Vivek Oberoi .Raktha Charitra is based on the life of Paritala Ravi, a prime suspect in many murders. Radhika Apte will play the role of Paritala Ravi wife in the film . The film is a trilingual (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil).She haven't finished shooting RC yet. It should get done by May. Ramu is fantastic and I'm lucky to have been cast in this film. He has immense clarity and works at great pace. Hisstyle of film-making is completely different from that of Aniruddha,s he said to a leadingEnglish daily.I knew about Paritala Ravi before I was approached for the movie.
