Not all is well between Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The stories of their breakups and settling things and breaking up and then again settling things up has become a regular affair. They have hardly managed to keep things on track. But when they were going steady and seeing each other, Kunal Kohli signed them for his next film.
No doubt, he had made a good choice of getting the pair for the lead as they were dating in real life too. However, calamity struck Kohli even before the shooting of the film had started. (As usual) Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra saw their relation again hitting the rocks. Kohli wonders what will happen to his film.
However, he believes in the professionalism of both the actors. They do give a good shot when before the camera. But the situation is not too good on the sets once the shooting stops.
A source reveals that there is tension for sure. Both Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have almost zero interaction between them when they are giving the shots. Once any specific shot is over, they turn a blind eye towards each other. There is such a great amount of hatred towards each other that none of them rehearses with each other.
The results may not be too good for the film. We just pray for the best!
After the highly successful chat show Koffee With Karan, we are waiting for a new chat show titled Simi Selects: India’s Most Desirable. The chat show will be hosted by Simi Garewal. As the title suggests Simi will be talking to the most desirable and eligible bachelor celebrities from India from various fields.
It is likely that unmarried and single celebrities, who are searching for a life mate like Priyanka Chopra, Yuvraj Singh and Siddhartha Mallya, may be a part of the show.
The organizers are of the opinion that the show is different from the regular chat shows. This show emphasizes on the information about the bachelors. The world will get to know more of them. But importantly, it is the prospective candidates who will benefit from the show the most.
This will be the first of its kind shows where there will be a live audience. The show is spurred by fun games and question and answer sessions among some more fun.
The beautiful Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra might be a smoldering one herself. She knows how to expose, up to what limit to expose and how to set the screens on fire. However, Piggy Chops says, she was and is never comfortable with being nude on screen. She is personally against nudity on screen.
It might sound baffling for some of you to read it as to how Priyanka is not comfortable being nude on screen. If you remember, she has had many bold scenes in movies like Fashion, Andaaz and Aitraaz. Those who have seen those movies might vividly remember the steamy scenes that Priyanka Chopra went through.
She feels that she can do characters which are raunchy only up to a certain limit. She also feels that every character has a limit to expose them which cannot be said to be nude. She also pointed out that she will do roles where she can sit with her parents and watch the movie.
Priyanka believes in aesthetically done roles. She even cited the example of her recent film Saat Khoon Maaf which supports her statements. With men kissing men and men loving men becoming more and more common on the silver screen, she said that she would not mind kissing a girl on screen.
The much talked about names for Dhoom 3, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif along with Deepika Padukone will be missing from the film. The reason is that, the makers of the film want to rope in a fresh face for the movie to be cast opposite Aamir Khan. Now, who that new face will be, is still not known as the search is still on.
Earlier, the reports from the Yash Raj banner said that the film would be made with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif or Deepika Padukone. However, now according to the latest reports, (or strategy, we may say) the production house wants a fresh face instead of the established names in the film industry.
Esha Deol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had donned these roles before. It was both the producer – Aditya Chopra and the director Vijay Krishna Acharya wanted a new face, brushing aside some heavyweight names.
It is not new for the Yash Raj Films to have new faces in their films. So, this news should not come out of the bolt for the three ladies mentioned above. The search for the new face is certainly on.

The much talked about marriage between Prince William and Kate Middleton might be over, but the reports are not. On the contrary, there are a lot of interesting reports coming up. Taking the opportunity of this hyped marriage, a survey was conducted amongst the Indian community asking who would make a better bride for the Prince from Indian celebrities.
Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka Chopra were the three options for them to choose from. A staggering 75% of the 8000 voters went for Katrina Kaif. Priyanka Chopra stood second with more than 16% of votes while the remaining votes went to the relatively newer Sonakshi.
However, when it came to replying to the same question without having any options, it was the Bengali beauty Sushmita Sen who was the ultimate and unanimous choice for Price William. This question was posted on social networking platforms.
Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra might be sharing a good bond of friendship. However, after Priyanka commented on Ranbir’s various affairs, it seems that there could be a crack in the smooth friendship. Both will be shooting for Anurag Basu's upcoming film Burfi. So now it is feared, this could potentially affect the shooting.
Ranbir was not happy with the way his casanova image was portrayed by Priyanka Chopra. Actually, Priyanka had made that a topic of fun for herself. However, Priyanka has made the comments in the light-hearted spirit. But, it is very likely that Ranbir takes these comments personally and not as lightly as Priyanka would like him to have it.
However, some sources say that the comments passed would not affect the shooting of Burfi a lot. The reason is Priyanka and Ranbir are not romantically linked with each other in the film. It is Ileana with whom Ranbir would be paired and Priyanka plays the second woman in Ranbir’s life in the film.
There is no doubt that Ranbir would get hyper and not like the way Priyanka has talked about him. Already he is trying to clean his image as the word ‘womanizer’ has got stuck to him like anything. After his break-up with Katrina Kaif, Ranbir has been linked with Nargis Fukhri, his co-star in the film Rockstar.
Shahid Kapoor is already trying to woo back Priyanka Chopra again at any cost. To add to that he is now being linked to Bani. He is not at all happy with the developments and wants to clear the air. These types of unwarranted gossips in the air can derail Shahid’s love life for days to come.
Being linked to anyone else is the last thing that Shahid wants at this moment. He is very careful that he does not disturb the already fragile relation between him and Priyanka.
But in the meanwhile, as far as his link with VJ Bani is concerned, he thinks, it is the handiwork of Bani’s some of the close friends. The most possible reason could be Shahid and Bani share the same trainer – Abbas.

Karan Johar is known for making family oriented film. His films are totally of a ‘U’ category and the family can watch it together. He is one director who looks smart, is handsome, has all the qualities to be a hero on the silver screen and still he has never given acting any preference in life.
All that Karan wants to do is make films. When he has not acted in his own films, how would he make an appearance in someone else’s film? He had got one such offer from another film maker Vishal Bharadwaj. In Vishal Bhardwaj's ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ Priyanka Chopra plays the lead role. She has seven husbands in the film whom she kills one by one.
For one of the hubby’s role in this film, Vishal Bhardwaj had offered the role to Karan Johar. He wanted Karan to play the role of a sex-manic husband who also is a ‘great’ wife-beater. However, Vishal could not convey his feeling to KJo directly. So, he wanted Priyanka Chopra to talk to him on his behalf.
Priyanka went ahead. But Karan was flabbergasted at the offer of acting in ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ and that too in a role of a sex-maniac. He instantly asked Piggy Chops from which angle did he look like a wife-beater (right Karan, you are so cool)?
When Karan Johar refused the role, only then Vishal cast Irrfan Khan for the same.
It is really difficult to predict if a couple is really in touch with each other or it is nothing more than a publicity stunts. Couples have done such publicity stunts before at the time of the release of major films to garner more and more support to make the film a hit. However, whom we are now talking about is the charming lady and the current host of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 3’, Priyanka Chopra. PC was seeing Shahid Kapoor, and we are all aware of that. We also know that they have stopped seeing each other now. So what’s new that we are saying? Well, the two were seen (not exactly with each other), at the night show of ‘Dabangg’. They were at an Andheri multiplex, just days before. They arrived in separate cars. But, the two were at the show at the same time. Are we reading too much between the lines?
‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is the Indian version of ‘Fear Factor’. After its successful run, this season, Priyanka Chopra will host the show of guts. The preparations are in full swing for Priyanka as she is training in a specially set up gym right in the jungles of Coorg. It has been a hectic training schedule for Priyanka as she is shooting on location. For that the whole set of equipment was literally transported either by air, rail or road. To add to it, experts flew to talk about Priyanka’s stunts. This is the first time that an Indian female celebrity will not only host a show of this type, but also do some breath-taking stunts.
I never, ever thought I'd get sick of seeing Priyanka Chopra's lovely face, but hey, there's a first time for everything.
Went to see What's Your Rashee last night on a whim because I trusted Ashutosh Gowariker so much that I didn't care how far I had to travel (30 mins, so, ok, not too bad) or how many tests I had to study for. It was Ashutosh Gowariker, yaar! How could anything possibly go wrong?
Well. In the movie, Harman Baweja plays a guy who has to find a bride by the 20th of the month. He puts out some type of personal ad and, thanks to his dashing good looks, is flooded with responses. To narrow them down, he decides he will only meet one girl for each zodiac sign. All 12 of these women are played by Priyanka Chopra. YAWN. Here's the thing (in my humble opinion): Priyanka did a fine job of acting "different" for each character (and she deserves praise for this--this is the first time any actress anywhere has played 12 roles in one film!), but she just wasn't interesting enough to keep me entertained for 12 poorly written mini-stories. Gosh, I really feel bad saying that, because I could tell she tried to give each underwritten character their own identity. But the film was so drawn out that it was boring nonetheless, and I walked out feeling like Priyanka and I needed some space. Then we had her paired with a dud like Harman Baweja who's less exciting than my microbiology professor, and, well, there you have it (And this guy is supposed to play Siddarth's character in the Hindi version of Bommarillu?!?Say it ain't so!).
Why didn't Ashutosh Gowariker go the cameo-role route and have 12 "surprise" actresses pop up to represent each sign? Then at least I would have had something to look forward to other than the ending credits (literally--I spent most of the last hour praying that each woman would be the last and that we'd already covered all the rashees, only to discover, to my dismay, that nope, we hadn't met the Leo girl yet...ARGH!!).
I can't help thinking that the film may have worked had it been a more charismatic duo than Harman and Priyanka. I'm thinking Anil Kapoor and Sridevi could have pulled this off back in the day, or even better, what about Rani and Abhishek? Now wouldn't that have been a blast?
More bad news: The song picturizations were boring (except for the very last one which was really cool--see below under "The Good News") and awkwardly placed, a shame since most of them were actually really pretty. 90% of them felt like fillers. I cannot tell you how badly I am jonesin' for a good song picturization! Each new film seems to be let down after let down. :(
It was interesting(and quite bothersome) that it just seemed to be assumed that Harman's character was such a "good catch". Like he got to pick from 12 girls who would be just elated to end up with a guy like him. Sure, a couple of them said no, but they had external reasons for doing so like not wanting to leave India or rush into marriage. Why couldn't more of the girls just say no because...well, because they just didn't feel there was anything there? Couldn't there have been one girl who said, "I'm just not really attracted to you like that, but we can still be friends"?
One more nagging gripe and then I'll stop complaining: The ending wasn't all that, and there were stones left unturned a.k.a some of the subplots weren't sufficiently resolved. Not all of my questions were answered, and that sucks after you sit through a 3 hour+ snoozefest.
THE GOOD NEWS:
*Ashutosh Gowariker is still a kick-a** director, and the cinematographer did some nifty camera tricks. This certainly doesn't fall flat because of poor execution. The scenes were colorful and crisp and some of the shots were really gorgeous.
*Priyanka's so prrrety. And now we know that she's not afraid to bare down and scrub the makeup off to play a quirky character. I don't think Aishwarya would have played someone like, for example, Anjali (The first girl Yogesh meets).
*Harman is hot. Why couldn't I have bumped into him when I lived on Sunnyside and Ravenswood? ;) He's not a bad dancer, either, but I don't think he's half as good as he thinks he is.
*We see women with power and real jobs. One is a doctor, the other president of a corporation (at least I think she was president--she sure held a lot of clout).
*The last song was really neat. Like Aamir in Ghajini, its picturized on multiple Priyankas, and she does an awesome job of dancing differently for each character. Oh, and the guitar song was pretty, but got boring after awhile due to poor picturization.
And--**** BIG SPOILER ****--- Yogesh ends up marrying the girl with my zodiac sign! Hooray!(****END SPOILER****).
****UPDATE...LATER THIS EVENING****** After writing this post and reading Darshit's review, I went to go see Wake Up, Sid starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen. I really enjoyed it, so much so that it'll be awhile before I can say anything other than "Omg! That was so awesome!!!". So if you're looking for something to see this weekend, bypass What's Your Rashee and check out Wake Up, Sid instead.
Say what you will about Dostana, but one thing's for certain...The entire cast had a blast filming this!!!
And why wouldn't they? Abhishek, comfortable with his own sexuality (Here's one man who doesn't care what anybody thinks about this film or him in it: He's laughing all the way home to the "Most Beautiful Woman In the World"), had no qualms about getting cozy with John Abraham. John, looking better than ever (Don't worry, we'll talk more about this later), seemed just as relaxed, soaring above my expectations for him in a comedic role. And Priyanka, though still lacking the fire her good looks command, had every reason to smile through the entire 142 minutes of the film--I'd be smiling too if I had Abhishek on my left and John on my right! Add to the mix Kirron Kher in a perfectly cast role (She's always perfectly cast as a mother, I know, but remarkably so for this one), normally boring Bobby Deol showing he does have a sense of humor, and several cute filmi goodies scattered about, and you've got a pretty fun timepass.
If you're not familiar with Dostana's plot, let me fill you in (Because I know you've seen the promos). Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan) is a male nurse (what is it about a man having this profession that guarantees instant snickers and giggles? Its 2009, for crying out loud!). Kunal (John Abraham) is a photographer. Both appear to be enjoying bachelorhood--especially Kunal (Surprised? Didn't think so). After a chance meeting,Sameer and Kunal continue to bump into one another, with crazy coincidences landing them both in line to rent dual rooms in a beautiful Miami apartment. Because the third room is occupied by the her niece, Neha, the landlord announces she will only accept women tenants. Naturally, Kunal and Sameer concoct an outlandish plan to get her to reconsider. They decide to pose as a gay couple, in hopes of convincing the landlord that they will not be a threat to her niece.
Seem farfetched? Well, it sort of is. A lot of this stuff happens rather quickly and unbelievably. I mean, yeah, its a great apartment, but who would go along with a lie that requires so much work to maintain...just for a stupid room. How many apartments are there in Miami? Come on. Remember, the boys decide on this plan before they even lay eyes on Neha. And, of course, once they do...
Well, lets just say its Priyanka Chopra. Obivously, now the guys are hooked...and the games begin!
The rest of the film is a good time, though not as funny as I expected. I mean, the guys did a grrreat job, but I think the screenwriters could have used their hilarious chemistry more. Abhishek and John appeared to really enjoy working with one another, and I'm sure they had tons of fun on the set. As far as I know, this was a very different role for both of them, one they pulled off effortlessly. As a matter of fact, they seemed capable of pushing the envelope even further for the sake of a few good laughs, but for some reason the film held out. I wished we would have gotten more scenes with the two of them clowning around...Not to mention a complete song featuring them dancing in those black tuxes. Oh, well. I can't really complain too much because the film still worked, mostly thanks to them.
Abhishek, who's impressed me before as a funny guy, was missing some of the goofiness he had in Bunty Aur Babli or Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. But that wasn't his fault--his character was a little on the low key side and not written to be as far out as Bunty or Rishi in those films. Still, he shined most here when sharing screentime with John.
And, of course, watching John onscreen was like being fed eye candy through an IV. No question about it--he brought the Pretty Boy back! I really have to say, this performance was the best I've seen from him. His looks fit the part, he seemed to be enjoying himself, and he was actually good at being funny! Looks like he's found his niche...Playboy bachelor who lies about his sexuality...Hmm, sounds like a few guys I know!
Piggy Chops (A name I hate for her) turned out another average performance as Neha, which was disappointing (C'mon, Priyanka, let's kick it in gear-you're one of the hottest chicks in Bollywood!). I think the only performance of hers I've been semi-satisfied with was her role in Salaam-E-Ishq. I don't mean to be hard on the poor girl, but geez, I've seen her exude more personality on a Koffee with Karan episode! But, to her credit, she didn't do an awful job and was at her very best when onscreen with John and Abhishek (Although, I can't blame her--I'd be happiest when working with them, too!). Still, I feel like I always get less than I expect from her, and its frustrating--can't help but wonder what Preity Zinta would have been like in this role instead. Oh, well...I just bought Fashion recently so here's hoping.
I'm sure you can guess that both Kunal and Sameer fall in love with Neha (Obviously a problem since she thinks they're both gay). Add to the mix Neha's boss (Bobby Deol) who also has the hots for her, and you've got a nice little quadrangle that could shake this happy household to the core.
In a quest to win Neha's heart, Sameer and Kunal simultaneusly try to woo her with little romantic gestures and even each take her out on a "date". Of course, since the three of them have become the best of friends, nothing about the guys' attention feels unnatural to Neha, and she goes along with it all, never suspecting either of them could actually be straight--much less in love with her.
Sameer rents out a carnival for his date. The two spend the evening laughing and frolicking on the rides like children, and he closes the night with a gift: A scrapbook he's put together in honor of their friendship. Oddly enough, Kunal is absent from all of the photos! Wouldn't that have been a red flag for Neha? Oh, I know he's the photographer, but still...they make tripods for that stuff. Anyways, the point is, the two had zero spark together, which I found surprising. I'd heard once that Abhishek had a real life crush on Priyanka in the past, so I was hoping for some traces of that to show. I mean, I know he's married now, but c'mon, guys, work is work! Give us something that would make Ash green with envy! Ok, I'm totally kidding, but seriously, these two had nothing. Maybe it was the annoyingly bland English tune playing in the background, but...let's just say I have no plans to see Drona.
Onto Kunal and Neha's date. First of all, whether he was straight or not, a date with John Abraham alone would make me swoon. But a candelight dinner followed by a widescreen viewing of "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai"? Are you serious??!!Marry me now, Kunal!!
Not to mention the fact that Kunal and Neha reenacted my cherished gazebo scene. Aww...It didn't matter that Priyanka lacked Kajol's expressiveness or that Kunal wasn't as charasmatic as SRK. It wasn't meant to be as good as the original, anyways--this was all just for fun! And I, for one, welcomed the inclusion! Kjo, you can mention KKHH as much as you want--yes, its a little self-indulgent, but I don't mind(Speaking of which, there's also a reference to "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" in the film that had me laughing out loud)!
I can't tell you who I was rooting for at this point. I mean, the film didn't really show a preference for Neha/Sameer or Neha/Kunal so I honestly didn't know who she would end up with--if anyone. Of course, the real chemistry of the film belonged to Kunal and Sameer, but I'll admit that I still cared about Neha's fate, too. Would she fall for Sameer's sweetness? Or Kunal's charm? Or would it be a draw and go to Bobby Deol's dry character? You'll have to watch Dostana to find out!
I do have to mention, however, the two glaring problems in the film. First of all, the bland music--Dostana's tunes lacked the catchiness and originality that we can usually expect from a Karan Johar film. Instead, we got mediocre songs with boring picturizations. The best the film had to offer was the semi-catchy opening tune starring Shilpa Shetty in a smoking hot cameo (I know I've questioned this woman's sex appeal before, and I hereby take it all back--she's got it going on!), and an extremely dance-able closing song which I've included below.
Ahh, this really was a great song...Now here's the goofiness I longed to see in Abhishek during the film! And Priyanka's working it, looking better than she did in any of the other songs. And John...well, John's just looking hot. Again.
The second major complaint was the gay stereotypes the film seems to embrace, somewhat offensively. I took this with a grain of salt--Seriously, can we expect anything less than ignorance from Karan Johar? The man has never been the most tactful on his own show...why would he start now? But it was pretty irritating, in particular the way the writer's depicted "every" gay man as walking and speaking a certain way. Also, the assumption that "every" gay man would automatically be attracted to "every" other gay man bugged me. If you find any of this directly offensive, I would either advise you to stay away from Dostana or to consider the source.
Aside from its missteps, I did enjoy watching this. I don't think I've ever labeled a film as "a decent timepass" before. But if there's one that deserves the title, it's definitely Dostana. Though its not nearly as good as any of the other Karan Johar films I've seen (yep, I'll admit that I do like most of them), its still worth the time just to see John, Abhishek, and even Priyanka having a ball! Go into it with little expectations and you'll likely have some fun, too!
My brother said it best: Don:The Chase Begins Again could have been a pretty good movie, if it had been directed, edited, scripted and subtitled better.
But it wasn't.
Not even close. Beth's post warned about the poor subtitles in the film, but nothing could have prepared me for this. In fact, I think there were more lines with grammatical errors than those that actually made sense. I found it so distracting that it was hard to stay focused on the film, which was rapidly losing its credibility with me, for other reasons...
I've been tempted in the past to make a comment about this but since I'm not a medical professional (just yet) I didn't think I was qualified to criticize. But I've now been pushed to the point where I just don't care... What is up with the improbable deaths in Bollywood? We have Pooja in Hum Aaapke Hain Koun (slides down the stairs face up with no apparent neck injury, then appears to be conscious in the hospital, says a few lines and dies), Tiger's mother in Hum (dies almost instantly for no apparent reason after her husband is crushed to death), and now Ramesh who drowns with one simple push into a pool by Don. I realize its possible he just couldn't swim, but there was no follow-up, simply a cut to a teary Kareena Kapoor. No kicking, gasping for air, or screaming for help. If they can come up with a fighting scene in midair, they can take a little more time to kill off Ramesh properly.
Unfortunately, Ramesh's death was just the beginning. I found myself constantly having to piece together where we were going, what was happening, who this new character was, etc. (i.e. Arjun Rampal's entrance, what Kamini was doing in the club after her hubby had just died, why later Kamini was lying on the floor and letting the elevator door hit her repeatedly, and the list goes on and on). Like I said, I'm no professional, but I'm willing to bet this is what one would call a choppy screenplay.
Thanks to this movie, I actually found myself repulsed by one of my favorite actors, Shahrukh Khan. Take the hotel scene with Kareena Kapoor (who I have yet to find it in my heart to like anyways). The music, the jerky movements between the actors, and the poor photography gave that entire scene a really sleazy vibe, in my opinion.
Luckily, as the movie progressed, and Shahrukh portrayed Vijay's transformation from a gullible scaredy cat to a confident action "hero", amidst vivacious dancing and trademark SRK faces, I grew more comfortable with him as "the Don". By the end of the movie, I decided Shahrukh was not the problem here...I actually thought he did a pretty good job in his fighting sequences. I would give him another shot in an action role if he chose to make one.
The second half of Don was better than the first, but by the time we got there I just really wanted the movie to end. So here's where editing would have been nice.
The music was passable, but just barely. I didn't know most of the songs were from the original Don, and I don't know if that would have made a difference to me or not. The sets and costumes were nice enough, but for some reason, the dance sequences lacked all the fanfare that I love about Bollywood songs. The audio was blah, the colors were all muted (except for Priyanka's stunning coral dress) and the presentation was shoddy. Another thing that could have been done better, especially when you have competent performers like Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.
Shahrukh and the gang gave it their best shot, but probably had no idea the end result would turn out like this. Makes me wonder what that must be like for actors. I mean, you work on a film that seems like it will turn out great, put your all into it, then get to the premiere and realize with a sinking heart that your movie didn't turn out the way you expected it to. But by then its too late. I could imagine that happening here. Like I said, the plot outline is actually pretty interesting, the sets for some of the songs had potential, and the actors did a great job in the fighting scenes. If I were an actress, I would have signed on to do it. It's what should have happened behind the scenes and didn't that turned this into a bad movie. And that must have been frustrating for the cast.
I just want to make it clear that I don't mean to sound snobby about this stuff, and I realize my Hollywood-grown attitude needs to adjust to certain things if I'm going to kick back and have a good time in Bollywood. But since I am recording my journey through Indian cinema, its necessary for me to write my honest reactions and issues as they arise. I know I'm going to run into many more misspelled words and unexplained deaths. And although that may be frustrating at times, more often than not it will be worth overlooking because the film is so good.
No, really I am! Yes, it was about two and a half hours longer than it should have been. Yes, it was about six couples whose stories I didn't care about as much as I should have. But I saw it fairly early in my Bollywood watching days, and it gave me a huge bonus incentive-an introduction to 13 Bollywood actors I had previously never seen before.
I guess the movie was so-so. It had some cool moments(the title song) and some real yawners(most of Salman Khan's scenes). I watched it once by myself and then showed it to Ceci(Ok,and once with my mom and bro--so three times). It was way better when you had someone to laugh at the silly parts with you and join you in drooling over John Abraham.
But, sadly, the highlight for me of this film was just getting familiarized with the stars in it... So, here's a few of my first impressions...
John Abraham-Hey, isn't this the guy from "Where's the Party Tonight?" I know I've seen him before, and clearly it wasn't in real life(I wouldn't be that lucky).
Vidya Balan-She acted like her doting husband was an annoyance, even before her accident. The snottier she was to him, the more he chased after her. Hmm. Maybe I could learn a few things from Tehzeeb.
Priyanka Chopra-I don't mean to sound hung up on physical beauty here but how can you not mention beauty in the same sentence describing Priyanka Chopra? Her character was stuck up in the movie, but I hear a lot of positive things about her in real life. If she's as sweet as she seems on the inside, then some women really do have it all!
Salman Khan-I knew he was a big name in Bollywood, but I was unimpressed. He and Priyanka didn't really have a well written story, though. At least Priyanka got me to laugh a few times. Salman just reminded me of an obsessive fan/stalker.
Govinda-While I didn't see any real chemistry between him and his other half Stephanie in the beginning, by the end of the film this pair was hands-down my fave couple! Really funny and really sweet...the whole movie could have been about them(and a lot shorter) and I would have been happy.
Shannon Esrechowitz-I wonder how she got into this movie. I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know! I mean, does she love Bollywood? Was she approached? Did her agent set it up? I liked her, but I just was curious. Anyways, they made sure to pick a girl that looked good in liquid eyeliner. They made sure.
Akshaye Khanna-He reminds me of a young Robert de Niro...And I thought his commitment phobia story was funny, a nice comic relief from some of the boring scenes. Hooray for happy endings, but he totally deserved that blow from Ayesia Takia! Speaking of...
Ayesia Takia-She seemed sweet here, but didn't have a big enough role to really show what she can do. A movie like Dor shows she is capable of much, much more if given the opportunity.
Anil Kapoor-I can't judge him from this film. He played a man going through a mid-life crisis pretty believably, so I guess that was the point. But given that I now know he's been around for awhile, I'd like to see one of his meatier roles before I judge him.
Juhi Chawla-Same as above. But why would anybody want to cheat on her? And did anybody else think the "other woman" kind of looked like Juhi anyways?
Sohail Khan/Isha Koppikar-I would sacrifice the few laughs this couple gave me to cut them from the film. Nothing personal...but in a movie that stretches almost four hours long, do you really need a "filler"?
Some extra points:
*Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same guy who directed Kal Ho Naa Ho? I just don't see it...But I guess he didn't write the scripts, so whatever...
*Why isn't "Babuji Deere Chalna" on the soundtrack? I know its an older song remixed...Was it a copyright thing?
*When I first saw the scene where Kkamini lists the actresses, I didn't know who any of them were...Now I know almost all! I'm so happy!
