15 Minutes Thakkali Thokku

Ingredients:
Ripe Tomatoes : 2
Oil : 3 Teaspoons
Mustard seeds and urud dal : 1 Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Dried ground nut : 2 Teaspoons
Chili Powder : 1 Teaspoon
Servings : 2
Cooking Procedure:
Grind tomatoes into a fine paste with litte water. Heat oil in a kadai. Fry dried ground nut, mustard seeds and urud dal. When mustard seeds splutter add the ground tomato puree. Add salt and chili powder and allow the mixture to boil until water gets absorbed. This would take approximately 15 minutes. Yummy thakkali thokku is ready to serve!
Additional Information:
  • Goes well with chappathi, rice, idly and dosa.
  • Can be refrigerated for a week.
  • Curry leaves can be added for richness.
