The Madras High Court restrained Tamil actor Srikanth from evicting his wife Vandana from his residence. Justice V.Ramasubramanian passed the interim order on a suit filed by Vandana to this effect. Vandana and Srikanth married in a temple at Kakinada on February 7, 2007. The marriage was registered in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh according to Hindu Marriage Act. The formal wedding was arranged on June 18th. On June 14, Srikanth lodged a complaint stating that she had trespassed into his house on June 13. In the meantime, she filed the present suit. The judge said that the marriage between Vandana and Srikanth is valid, as otherwise he could not have filed a petition for divorce. Hence the status of Vandana as wife of Srikanth cannot be in doubt at present.
