About 30 small and high budgeted which were slotted for release on Valentine’s Day and during this month. But now all the releases have been postponed because of the World Cup Cricket matches which is suppose to commence on 19th of this month.
Films like Engeyum Kadhal, Ko and Vaanam were readied fast with the intention of releasing these films on the Valentine Day.
The film Engeyum Kadhal which has Jayam Ravi and Hansika in the lead roles was supposed to be released on Valentine Day. Prabhu Deva while speaking about this film said, "It would have been apt if the film was released on the lover’s day because this film is a wholesome romantic film.
We have shot some beautiful romantic songs in the streets of Paris. But the production side said that it is better if the release is postponed because there will be no crowd in the theatres because of the cricket matches."
Hansika who is in the female lead role in this is very upset because her first Tamil film is not being released as per schedule. Similarly the heroine Karthika of Ko is also unhappy because her first Tamil film which was supposed to be released on the Valentine Day got postponed.
