Lord Ganesha : Lord of Obstacles and Beginnings!
Not a day passes without uttering his nama! He is the most worshiped Hindu divinity in India! He is also called as Ganapati, Pillayar, Vigneshvara, Ekatanta and Vinayaka. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati. His brother Murugan is also named as Karthikeya and Skanda. Ganesha is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is also worshiped as a God of Education and wealth. Ganapati Homam is performed before starting a new venture. The most important festival celebrated for Lord Ganesha is Pillayar Chaturthi, which is on September 15th. Modagam(Kozhukattai) is offered to God on this day.
